I spend a decent amount of my spare time marketing Jamie’s PolkaDachs business on-line. If you’ve done any on-line marketing over the past ten years then you know the space has changed drastically. Nowadays small businesses can tie into Google’s Adwords and Yahoo’s Overture services. These are both pay-per-click advertising models, which helps drive more targeted traffic to your site for a small fee.
Then there’s Froogle, which is completely free. Froogle is like Google for shopping. I’ve been working to keep the PolkaDachs product line up to date in Froogle’s index. You have to update it at least once a month to keep your listing from being removed. Right now we have almost 50 products listed and I’m working to get the thumbnail images up to date.
At any rate, if you’re doing any sort of on-line marketing for your business then I would highly recommend Froogle (assuming you’re selling a product). It’s too cheap to pass up!
Hey Dennis!
How much traffic (and sales) do you estimate Froogle is sending your way? Is it easily measurable?
B
B, it’s great to hear from you! The traffic and sales are definitely measurable through HTTP logs and conversion tracking. Let’s do lunch soon and discuss.
